Let’s take a look at some news, numbers and statistics for EOS today

Boid is an airdrop with 5:1 ratio (if you have 200 EOS you will receive 1000 Boid) which will be the native token of the Boid EOS sidechain.

At the heart of Boid is the desire to make the benefits of blockchain technology accessible to all people. Boid acts as a gateway, lowering the barrier to entry for non-technical users to directly participate in blockchains and distributed computing projects. Boid has a social network layer, where users can join together in teams and compete on global leaderboards.

Even though the official network launch will not be until Q4 2020, we can all ready mine BOID tokens, which is quite cool

I started mining just half an hour ago and there is all ready some action. It is very easy. Sign up with any email and click add more devices. If you scroll down you can chose browser mining so you don’t have to download the file – which is something I never do from new sites like this. Fortunately the browser mode let’s us join the fun anyway. Will this take off? I don’t know. But I can certainly put some of my old laptops to use as they are currently unemployed 🙂

EOS Price

EOS is once again above $5 as it expectedly was ranked Number 1 by Chinas latest Blockchain ranking. Another reason for crypto currencies gaining today was that Bitmex, currently the biggest exchange volum-wise had maintenance, and while that happened someone decided to pump BTC prices on Bitfinex liquidating leveraged shorts on Bitmex. This resulted in a huge spike in price for BTC in particular once Bitmex was live again. So make no mistake – there is still a lot of manipulation going on in this market. Imagine..it’s a 200 billion dollar market – combined! Less than large cap company in the US. So expect volatility as 1994 comes to and end soon, and we say hello to 1999 (because 1 year is 5 crypto-years)

RAM prices

Ram is currently trading at 0.1198 and seems to have somewhat stabilised around this area. Using overall 62,3% of RAM. I personally bought some RAM at this level after really having lucked out at selling almost at top. I am not going to do more speculation on RAM, but I think it’s OK to invest in a little bit. I will probably buy the same amount at 0.09 and 0.05 if we ever see those numbers.

Blockchain useage and transactions

New records are being set almost daily – and the latest is 3972 TPS (transactions per second). The activity is 4,8 million operations per day, almost 5 times that of Steem and almost 10 times that of ETH. The biggest difference however is that EOS is running at 0,4% capacity whereas ETH is running at more than 100% with more than 64,000 unconfirmed transactions. Spam or stress test aside – the fact is that the EOS network has A LOT of capabilities.

And that’s it. Let me know if you enjoy this “news” format of prefer more in depth articles like these linked to beneath.

Very nice. Thanks. Will watch your updates.
I’m not sure about this BOID thing, tho. You know about malware that uses your computer to mine coins without your knowledge? Couldn’t this just be a way to volunteer your processing power for someone to mine crypto and throw you a few tokens for the pleasure? Yeah they say there are other altruistic possibilities…. I would like to know a lot more before linking up.

Eric. You were not far off. They are actually using the Gridcoin miner and compensating people with “Boid” tokens that are as of now worthless. Someone accused them of not being transparent about this. They themselves said that they had. I haven’t really had the time to look into it. I dont think they are malicious, but how it worked should probably have been disclosed in a better and more transparent way.

Hi, cool overview! I haven’t received any Boid, maybe i check with them. i ran boid on my computer for a while, but the tasks seem to be stuck. Also don like its autostart and i cant turn that of in the app, not really user friendly.
