I just arrived here and wanted to let you know some initial gut feeling-like thoughts about the experience here compared to another blockchain-based social platform, Steemit (which runs on the Steem blockchain). So please excuse in advance for some ignorance (btw, is there a FAQ sheet linked somewhere here?).
Do only I have the impression that the site is generally a bit slow in reaction? Anyway, for an early beta this might happen.
There are some similiarities but also some striking differences compared to Steemit. For instance the review before publication of a post is something on one hand good for the quality, but is it scalable once the user base is much higher? Or is this feature just interim, for now, to have more control what is posted?
Generally, it looks like that the Trybe makers want to see a more focused content with a heavy focus on cryptocurrencies, trading, software dev, etc. and within those it seems (to an outsider) that half of the “tribe” is an EOS fan club! Nothing against that, EOS is for sure outstanding, but it appears a bit weird to have such a bias. It also looks that there is not too much openness to other topics. Not all potential users have something to say in your main areas which may hold off many people!
My recommendation would be to be more open for other topics to grow user numbers fast. Growth is everything, and growth metrics are diligently watched! Steemit is the other extreme, with no review and thousands of scam-like “flower and blue sky pictures” and (food) porn posts (but who cares, you don´t have to put them to your feed). The right balance is the key!
That´s it for now. Happy for getting some feedback or opinions!
PS: Is there a night mode?
