EOS Kights is a game created on the EOS blockchain. It is a small and simple game where you can buy an adventurer and upgrade there gear to try to get to the highest level. Also, there is a marketplace where you can sell crafted gear for EOS essentially making money.

I will say this is not a viable income and will not make you a lot of money, however, depending on how long you play it for means that you will make more money. I would like to share something that someone said to me though about how to make money with EOS knights and then explain why this is not a great way to do things.

“All you have to do is upgrade gear and move up the ranks until you get better gear, easy.”

Now there is some truth to this. However, I don’t think its the best way to make money because to level up an item in EOS knight you need to use the most valuable resource in the game which is water. Water can only be brought directly from the developers and currently stands at around 0.0001 EOS per water. Now it only costs 20 water to upgrade lower items to level 2 which is fine however the problem is not that the problem is levelling up your adventurers also requires water. Going between level 9 and 10 costs around 2000 water which is 0.2 EOS, so it starts getting expensive.

The best way I have found to make money with EOS knights is doing two things.

  1. Marketplace deals.
  2. Crafting and selling.

1) Marketplace deals.

Using the marketplace deals strategy, you will buy and sell like you would on eBay. Sometimes you can get great deals on an item that people don’t even realise what they are selling. I will go through the marketplace and pick up a useful item I can see very cheap and then add some value to it.

Sometimes this is a great way to make a quick return, however, make sure you research what you are buying because there might be a better item out there for the same level.

2) Crafting and selling.

Crafting and selling will take more than you think. You will first need to level up to make sure you are high enough to find suitable materials. The best way to do this is by not spending any money on gear or upgrading (Other than levels) until level 8. Then when you are level 8, you should be able to pick up some great cheap armour on the marketplace for your adventurers. The reason I say level 8 is because you cannot get gear upgrades until level 11 and they are more expensive. Also at this point, you will start getting lots of rare and unique materials which you can begin crafting unique items to sell. If you don’t want to play the game as a game, this is a great place to stop upgrading levels and just farm items and craft to sell them. You will not hit the fantastic items, but you will earn your money back and more.

I love this game, and I play it as a game but also to make money. However, many people want to get to the top, and that’s also fun. Whichever way you decide to play the game I hope you have a good time playing it.

Please remember this article is not financial advice and remember you may never get back what you have put into this game.

Sounds like addictive fun, thanks for the write-up, Martin. I’m looking forward to a Baldur’s Gate-like experience married to scatter transactions on randomly generated loot that you can then trade or something like that!

  2. Infosion

Very good overview! I was planning looking into this too and I think your article probably prevented me from doing a lot of mistakes or things you would’ve to find out yourself otherwise… So thx for this great sumup!

Thanks for sharing Martin! I think that the fact that people can play games and earn money is a great thing for blockchain as a whole, since gaming is one of the most engaged communities there is. It would be great to win over that audience.
