Presenting a tension under the sea, especially through submarines, it might sound difficult for filmmakers, as I know, there are not many films that have taken up this theme all this time. However, Hunter Killer (2018) has presented a special appearance to us, although there has been a lot of criticism of this movie.
However, for those of you who like thrillers and action, then this will be an exciting film to watch with your friends or family. Okay, I will explain a little to you about this movie, without leak the contents of the story as a whole (which might be) will disturb the whole movie lovers.
The film was produced by Donovan Marsh, telling about a tense underwater military relationship that could have triggered a major war between America and Russia. It began when the American Tampa Bay submarine was attacked by a torpedo by a Russian submarine in the Barents Sea, Russia. Then, to investigate the incident, RA John Fisk (Common) gave an order to Joe Glass (Gerald Butler) to lead an investigation team.
I watched Gerald’s appearance which was (maybe) a little monotonous, when he played the main character in the action and political conflict stories in this movie. But, for me it’s not too disappointing, especially when there aren’t many movie choices that I can watch for now.
Gerald Must Save the Russian President
Tensions for tension have been created in this movie, added when John Fisk received an official order to save the Russian president. How is the story? Why does the American military have to save the Russian President? Hmm, curious? Evidently, after conducting an investigation, John, assisted by an army team, learned that there had been a military coup against Nikolai Zakarin (Alexander), the Russian President.
From here I began to get the excitement of the story. Because, I had known a little synopsis before, that Gerald was a “super expert” in saving the president. You must have watched Gerald on Olympus Has Fallen (2013) and London Has Fallen (2016). Gerald’s role is still the same, is to save the president from threats. It’s exciting!
Although said to be good, but that may not be for film critics. At least, Killer Hunter has been used as a joke material to describe their negative views. Read a few jokes that I got, below:
“This manuscript of a military action film feels like it was written in the 1970s,” wrote Edward Porter of the Sunday Times.
“Gerard, you don’t need to care about the torpedo, you fire your agent”, wrote Ed Whitfield from The Ooh Tray.
Of course, not all movies are liked by all movie lovers, there are criticisms and there is a positive response to this flick. So, the decision to watch is in your hands. I advise you to watch this movie, it will be fun.
