I gave up

I gave up loving

You made up

You made up good loving

My heart was in deep hurt

My pains were indeed lot

I could tell that love is not for me

It was more than my eyes could see

They told me love was the content

Only If I was ready  to be the container

Containing what someone else can give

Hoping the person can take all I wanted to give in return

Then came the love thing all crazy

Turned out we handled it in a way it became messy

Whose fault could it be?

Or who wants to be free?

So, love pulled us down

Leaving our faces in a frown

Can love be bitter?

Tell me if there is ever any “Happy ever after”

Tell me love is all a lie

Tell me love is a scam

Tell me love is not real

Tell me it was all wrong to give it a try

I will be here with my opinion on  love

Until proven otherwise.

Hi faith, nice poem, theses words stand out in particular for me “They told me love was the content

Only If I was ready to be the container

Containing what someone else can give”
P.S. – I write a lot of poetry on TRYBE, you should check it out if you interested.
