This is a breakdown of my top BP candidates and why they are on my list. This list is subject of change, but as of today this is how I am going to throw my votes. What I look for is technological knowledge and skill, which means the capability of actively securing the blockchain. That is why I put the people of the ghostbuster chain in the top, simply because they understand the importance of this. But we don’t need 21 people that only focus on security, as long as the voted BPs help out each other there are other important aspects of where I want to throw my votes. This is where the morals, values and the capability of building a strong community goes up. Of course, in my mind, they have to align with my own morals and values. I believe EOS has the capability of changing the world, and we need the right people at the right place for that to happen.

#1 eos sw/eden –

Eric of eos sw/eden started the first community test-net together with a few other bps. Since then Eric has been helping everyone he is able to, in all the ways he can. He’s highly skilled with all aspects of tech and makes of a trustworthy BP with over 10 year experience in enterprise software development and server management. Eos sw/eden have been invited to talk about the future of blockchain on bloxpo, invited to speak at events in China and more.

I think eos sw/eden will be one of the main players connecting the west with asia. Their visit to China was highly appriciated. Except Eric eos sw/eden has a CEO with experience of running multiple successful companies, the latest being a hardware company making wireless earphones. You will also find Sean, which is an marketing expert and will come even more in handy once sw/eden starts working on their planned dapps.

They plan to put their block producing nodes and back-up servers on different locations in Sweden aswell as other northern countries to make the network even more decentralized. This will increase the security and also spread wealth within the community by paying regular people to make sure the servers have as close to 100% uptime as possible. This will of course be overlooked by Eric himself.

#2 eosDAC –

This one I think is obvious for a lot of people, eosDAC is community owned. The 1:1 airdrop gave them attention and gratitude from the entire community. However, that is not why I am throwing my vote on eos dac. I will throw it because of Michael Yeates, one of the more active players in the community has been a major contributor since the start of the community testnets. He’s very clever and skilled in the field of technology. Michael might actually be the most knowledgeable people outside of about how the eos software actually works. With his knowledge and willingness to help and explain how things works for other people, one can’t say anything else than that he is very valuable for the community.

#3 EOS Rio –

Igor… He’s the guy to go to when it comes to IT security. EOS Rio started the ghostbusters secure testnet to figure out how to properly secure the eos blockchain. They did this together with HKEOS (#4 on my list). But that is not everything, they also have a testnet open for developers to create and test DApps fast and easy. Igor is building tools to empower the community and optimize EOS performance. The performance and security aspect is very important if eos is going to be adapted by the masses. But he’s not alone, the team is filled with skilled players with tons of experience in different areas of IT. Igor also assisted in finding big issues in the eos-bios boot process. EosDAC, HKEOS and sw/eden was a part of both ghostbusters and finding, and fixing the problem with the eos-bios boot process.

#4 HKEOS –

Their involvement in creating the ghostbusters test net is enough for me to put them on this list. We need as many skilled people as we can when it comes to security on the eos blockchain. They also run an incubator for the development of DApps, and will use their rewards to help finance this. More DApps, means more potential airdrops and well funded projects which can and will help us build a strong community. They are also offering tech advice to everyone that asks. My highest priorities are transparency, security, usability and speed of the eos blockchain, and HKEOS will help with that.

#5 EOS Tribe –

EOS tribe helped building the ghostbuster test net, and figuring out how to properly secure the blockchain. For me, as I stated before, this is one very important aspect of whom gets my votes. They prioritize the people of the eos community and will always put the blockchain and it’s security before any other dutys. Their words “We will never waiver from our duty of keeping the EOS network stable and secure because of our commitment to the people on the network we serve.”. For EOS Tribe, the transparency is more important than any position, which is why they will provide a public EOS wallet address for anyone to audit what they do, and also suggest that other BP’s do the same. These are the kind of people I would like to see running the network, their priorities are where they should be.

#6 EOS42

Charles from EOS42 is killing it when it comes to DDos testing for the community. EOS42 comes with a great understanding of what is required to protect the blockchain from outside attacks. Also being a part of the ghostbusters network, and being a part of the community testnet since January, we can with trust them with delivering on what they promise. They have posted a well written EOS BP constitution which is really nice. They will provide 6 monthly independent security audits on the EOS blockchain to ensure its level of security.

#7 SHEOS –

This is an all female team of highly skilled players in the EOS community. They all have a very impressive list of achievements. They plan on having nodes all over the world, already have in different countries in europe. They are openly collaborating with other bp’s to always do whats best for the community. They also plan to do scholarships with rewards from being a BP, which is awesome for the future of the community. We can never have to many skilled players in the new world of blockchain. Their primary goals goes well in line with mine “our primary responsibility is to ensure the rapid, responsive, dependable and trustworthy performance that will result in widespread adoption of the EOS network.”. And them being a part of the ghostbusters network, you can easily trust that we put our trust in capable hands that understand the level of detail and precision required for the level of security we want on the eos blockchain.

8. EOS Gravity –

Big and serious BP candidate from China, they had serious events in China, with over 1000 people attending. They have resources and the people to pull of being a serious BP. But at the same time they are prioritizing the growth of the community. When I first saw their BP candidacy, I noticed they were next level compared to everyone before them. They were an early part of the superhero testnet and has been contributing since. I believe they are able to do a lot of good for the future of the eos community.

9. EOS New york –

Early adopter and candidacy to EOS, was a part of the first community testnet from start. Have been growing into one of the more influential players in the community, giving out nice quality information and trying to assist when they can. I have to be honest, at first I thought they were a bit arrogant, but that view has changed over time and I now think they should become BP. You can read some of their helpful articles here: Launch survival guide, One Mainnet, and their code of conduct. They could easily end up on my top 5 list, but I have to prioritize the ghostbusters for their security skill.

10. EOS CAFE / Calgary –

I love coffe and EOS Cafe wants to change the world one coffee at a time.

They aim to take EOS to the masses and start by working so you can pay for coffee with EOS. They want to create both digital and physical places for the EOS community to meet up and develop on the EOS blockchain. Their Discord channel has over 3000 members.
Syed is a key player in the BP community, they released a paper wallet for your EOS key to make sure you can securly save your EOS keys.

11. LibertyBlock –

LibertyBlock is big team with influential players in the cryptospace, they are a serious BP candidate and I believe they will deliver on what the network needs today and will need in the future. They have even claimed that they are aiming to become the MOST transparent BP out there. They have high knowledge about how to securly set up a network of servers and I strongly believe they are very capable of sorting out any attacks or issues. They are also launching Everipedia, which is going to be what wikipedia was sent out to become. A open, uncensored encyclopedia, and with the help of EOS blockchain I think they can pull it off. Everipedia is also free from ads and will be free to use for everyone.

12. Cryptolions –

Bohdan and Roman is key players in the BP community, they both already have a nice list of accomplishments in the blockchain world. Their reputation in the EOS community is solid and their expertise in blockchain and tech will come well in hand as BP. They are the leaders of the Jungle testnet and has done a great job running that. They actually managed to reach 1475 transactions per second on their testnet, that looks great for the future. With this experience, we can most likely sit back and trust them when it comes to running a functional chain.

Cryptolions code of conduct
This code of conduct is a great walkthrough of how they think and where their morals are. I think they are on point with most of their values, at least what’s presented in here.

13. EOS Dublin –

EOS Dublin are security geeks and has done a great job for the mainnet. Sam and Sharif are easy going, knowledgeable and focusing on collaboration. They are fully self funded and will always stay that way, which is also true for more BPs. They have goals to work together with the Irish universities to make sure the new students understand what blockchain technology is and what it’s capable of. They take infrastructure very seriously and believe that an independent third party should audit the infrastructure. I believe strongly that they are capable of being a stable Block Producer.

14. EOS Meso –

Very compassiable people, caring about everyone around you and want to do great things in the mesoamerica region. They are a big group, none in the group owns more than 10% of their BP organization. There are very knowledgeable and passionate people in EOS Meso, seemes to be filled with empathy and prioritize transparency, which I can approve.

Their head of infrastructure has over 20 years of experience in managing server farms for local banks etc. Which should mean he has the experience and knowledge required. Stuardo which is a software developer has devoted his life in making the Guatemala government more transparent and seems to have succeded to create a tool where the citizen can audit the government.

15. GenerEOS –

They built a tool to validate the EOS accout balance, they are contributing to the community and whats interesting is that their mission is to re-engineer the way funds are distributed to charities. They want to create transparent smart contracts and DApps so we can trust that the money we donate to charity will go where it’s supposed to go. This can change how the world of charity works, in a possibly great way. Their public plan for technical infrastructure looks great and well thought trough. They are also planning to develop an incubator to develop DApps, but whats interesting with GenerEOS is that they will focus on DApps for charity.

16. EOS Nairobi –

Building a DApp to incentivise parents when the children go to school, so decrease the amount of children that needs to work instead of going to school. Work for a stronger africa by helping the people develop software and understand blockchain technology. They have developer classes for free and also run an incubator for DApps.

This is my personal favorites as of today (june 6th 2018). They are all subject to change if I learn something that I don’t know already.

I hope this was to some help for you guys

Best regards
Coach Bjork

Wow! Very nice and comprehensive list. I was doing my own research to determine which top 21 to vote for and this makes it easier for me to make a decision, thank you for taking the time to knock it out. I am looking forward to voting. I notices EOS Canada wasn’t on your list. I’ve been watching their updates and Alex is doing a pretty good job giving us updates on the specs and tech issues the launch is encountering. Some of my fav’s are in your list as well…New York, Rio, HK, Dac, Tribe, and few others as well.

Nice! I’m also doing my own research one by one and so I can see how much work this must have taken! Now I can see a few in your list that I have vetted too, so Thanks for your list, man. I also voted (so far as I update each research completion): EOS Tribe, shEOS, EOS Gravity, LibertyBlock. This list makes it easier to decide. Thanks!

Hi Bjork, Great work! In case anyone is interested to get a perspective on how reliably BPs produce their blocks we have put together a simple tool . We are measuring BP uptime on jungle testnet as everyone gets a chance to produce blocks there. On mainnet only the elected BPs get to produce blocks (in the latter group uptime is not always perfect by the way. See for top 30 mainnet BPs).
