Remember, the are two types of tokens: 1. Utility and 2. Security.
1. Utility Tokens are tokens that allow you to interact with a platform or dapp.
How much are utility tokens worth? What can I use them for?
For example Trybe tokens currently have no value. However, later this year (2018) if Trybe tokens will be launched on the EOS blockchain, then we will be able to transfer our tokens to our EOS wallet.
The value of the tokens will then be dependent on market factors.
In the future, Trybe tokens will be able to be used to pay for advertising or content promotion on Trybe site. This will give the tokens real value, and as such increase their price on the market.
2. Security Tokens are the legally compliant tokenization of anything that has the future expectation of profit. Security Tokens (ST’s) allow for the tokenization of real estate, stocks, bonds, assets, companies, and investments that produce dividends.
Security-token trading platform must have compliant with regulatory requirements, such as it must include Initial Coin Offering (ICO) for potential investors.
